VILLA IN SETÚBAL | PORTUGAL

The project: Architecture and Dwelling

Date: 2024

Local: Lisbon, Portugal

Concept.

Thoughtfully conceived and designed with a strong focus on what these clients value most—their passion for hosting and sharing moments. This project was particularly challenging due to its limited area (150m²).

The program is developed over two floors in a T3 typology, with a living area designed to ensure a seamless connection between the living room and the kitchen in an open-plan layout.

The design approach emphasizes a constant relationship with the outdoors, creating a vertical axis that enhances the entrance space while also serving as a pivot point for the rest of the house. This strategy allows for a clear distinction between private and social areas, ensuring both privacy and spatial fluidity.

Particular emphasis was placed on the living room, which, in direct connection with a small annex, enjoys an uninterrupted view of the leisure area and swimming pool, embracing the surrounding landscape. The volume was intentionally fragmented to create a more dynamic form, achieved through vertical gestures and the choice of simple, natural materials.
