The project: Interior Design for a Restaurant
Date: 2024
Local: Lisbon, Portugal
Concept.
Located in the heart of Lisbon, in the iconic Príncipe Real neighborhood, this space is reborn from its own history. Once a traditional tool shop, it has now been transformed into an innovative concept that bridges tradition and modernity. The project respects the memory of the place, restoring it and giving it a new life as a seamless fusion of a store and a restaurant.
More than just a commercial space, this is a tribute to craftsmanship. Every piece displayed is not merely decorative but an integral part of the environment, shaping its identity and authenticity.
The brand is rooted in the fusion of material and fire, drawing a perfect parallel between ceramics and gastronomy. Just as dishes take shape under intense heat, ceramic pieces are also molded and transformed by fire—an alchemical process that unites tradition with innovation
The architectural vision reflects this philosophy, expressed through organic forms, warm tones, and an honest materiality. Clay, ceramics, and natural elements take center stage, creating an immersive atmosphere where every detail celebrates the human touch and the beauty of handcrafted imperfection.
The ambiance is defined by earthy terracotta tones, enveloping the walls, ceilings, and structural elements, evoking the raw authenticity of natural materials. The rough, hand-finished textures reinforce the connection to craftsmanship and ancestral knowledge
The fluidity of the space is enhanced by the curved shapes of the ceiling and walls, generating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Soft, indirect lighting accentuates these sculptural forms, creating a warm and intimate setting.
Furniture, crafted from light wood and stone, balances the solidity of natural materials with the simplicity of clean, geometric lines. The flooring, inspired by ceramic fragments, strengthens the project’s visual identity, establishing a subtle dialogue between past and present.
More than just a place, this is a living concept—where tradition and creativity come together to shape truly authentic and memorable sensory experiences.
